This policy covers the Weathever Kids website on was-anziehen.app and the Weathever Kids iOS app. The website provides information and does not access your app profile.
2. Visiting this website
The website is delivered through Cloudflare Pages and Cloudflare’s network. Requests involve technically necessary connection data, including IP address, requested URL, date and time, HTTP status, browser/device information and, where applicable, the referring page. The purposes are delivery, operation, troubleshooting and abuse prevention. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest is a secure, functioning website.
The recipient is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, and its subprocessors. Cloudflare operates an international network, so processing outside the EEA is possible. Cloudflare provides a Data Processing Addendum with international transfer provisions and EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Details and ways to obtain copies of safeguards are available there and in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Technical connection and security data is processed for as long as necessary for delivery, troubleshooting, and investigating or preventing security incidents. Retention by the hosting provider also depends on the service used and its contractual and security provisions. This website does not maintain its own visitor database.
4. Local app profile
The iOS app requires no account and includes no third-party advertising or third-party analytics SDKs. Character, name or nickname, colours, warmth preference, language, units, daily times, temperature thresholds, weather location and coordinates are stored in local WebKit storage on your device. Setup drafts also remain on the device. The operator does not receive this profile. Use a nickname rather than your child’s full name where possible.
These settings provide the personalised functionality you request; where personal data is processed, the purpose is delivery of this functionality (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). A parent or guardian should guide setup. A full name is not required.
5. Weather location, Apple Weather and place search
The iOS app uses Apple Weather through WeatherKit and Apple Core Location. Weather requests send the selected weather location’s coordinates to Apple. Once at least three characters have been entered and after a short typing pause, place-search text is sent to Apple. A saved, freely entered place name may also be resolved. Coordinates are also used to determine the local time zone. Apple receives technically necessary connection data, such as your IP address. Names, colours and other personal profile preferences are not included.
During onboarding, moving to the outfit preview already requests weather for the chosen location, before final saving. In normal app settings, a new weather location is used after you save.
This processing is necessary for the requested weather functionality (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Without a weather location, a location-specific live forecast cannot be created. Apple processes data under its own privacy terms; processing outside the EEA is possible. Apple states that WeatherKit location information is used only for forecasts, is not associated with personally identifiable information and is not tracked between requests. Details of recipients, retention and international transfer safeguards are in the Apple Privacy Policy and WeatherKit information.
6. Optional device location and reminders
“Use current location” is optional. After you explicitly select it, iOS requests location permission where necessary. The app requests a single location, supports approximate locations, and does not run background location tracking or continuous updates. Optional location access is based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may revoke permission in iOS Settings without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. You can enter a place instead.
Optional morning and bedtime reminders are scheduled locally by iOS after notification permission. Their general text includes no child names or weather data. There is no push server. Saving applies the switches and times; disabling or resetting removes scheduled reminders.
7. App retention and deletion
The profile and settings remain until reset or removal of local app data. A forecast cache is considered current for at most two hours and refreshed earlier if Apple’s expiry is reached or the local calendar date changes. Old caches are removed at the next use once they are at least 24 hours old; at most four cache entries are retained. Search suggestions are held temporarily in memory.
Resetting clears personal settings but may leave older weather caches. Delete the app completely to remove its local data; offloading keeps that data. If device backups are enabled, iOS may additionally back up local data according to your settings. Manage such backups through Apple. The operator cannot read your local profile or delete it remotely.
8. Email contact and external links
If you email us, we process your sender address, message content and any attachments you choose to send in order to address your request. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual enquiries, or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for other communication; the legitimate interest is responding to you. Recipient categories are email service providers used for transmission and mailbox management.
Support messages are kept while addressing the issue and for necessary follow-up. They are then deleted unless statutory retention or retention necessary for specific legal claims applies. Without contact details, we cannot reply.
External links, including the App Store, Apple and Cloudflare, load third-party content only after you follow them. Their providers then process data under their own terms. External links in the iOS app are opened outside the app after its confirmation step.
9. Your rights
Where legal conditions are met, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability. You may withdraw consent for future processing at any time. You may object to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation.
Contact the operator at post@was-anziehen.app. You may complain to a supervisory authority, including the Austrian Data Protection Authority. For data Apple processes in its own responsibility, Apple’s rights and contact processes also apply.
Providing data is not a legal requirement. Technical connection data is necessary to load the website; a weather location is necessary for local weather functionality. Device location and notifications are optional. There is no automated decision producing legal or similarly significant effects under Article 22 GDPR. Outfit pictures are non-binding suggestions.
